Evernote Public Bookmarks, and Invites for Mashable Readers
Evernote is admittedly my favorite new bookmarking tool, namely because it allows me to bookmark all the things in my life that aren’t already digital. With an assigned email address, I can send content to my Evernote account via email or through my mobile phone. With image text search, I never have to create a database of collected business cards again.
And the thing I like most about Evernote is that there’s a flexible organization to your saved content that works in a timeline reflective of your own brain’s thought processes. So if you happen to forget the name of the person you met at Yahoo’s office but remember that you bookmarked a photo of the Aston Martin car you saw in the parking lot on your way out, you’ve got an organic trail back to that Yahoo employee that comes in handy for searching–and even reorganization–later on.

As much as I like Evernote, however, I am anxiously awaiting the day when bookmarks can be ported across services (this is a request that goes beyond just Evernote). And for Evernote in particular, I wondered if making bookmarks shareable would be an option, as the bookmarking of the personal, non-digital life could raise some interesting privacy questions.
Nevertheless, the option to share bookmarks with others has been added into Evernote’s service. Right now you can add certain items to a particular folder that can be made public. Additional sharing and privacy features will be added in the near future. For now, there’s a widget that displays your public bookmarks, which can also be placed on your Facebook profile.

And even though Evernote is still in private beta, the service has managed to reach 1 million notes saved already. If you’d like an invite in order to help that number grow, click here to get an Evernote account before they all run out.
