Moblf: 15 Steps to Getting FriendFeed via SMS [Invites]

This isn’t about to help your information overload problems, but if you’re a FriendFeed fan, it is a new way to keep up with your friends while on the go, Twitter style. Moblf (“mobile life,” minus a few vowels) is the name of the service, and its goal is to provide Twitter-like SMS functionality via SMS.
For now, the basic functions include being able to grab the most recent 5 updates from your FriendFeed stream, and being able to send a message to your followers, all via text messaging. Soon, you will be able to reply to your friend’s activities via SMS, which will show up in the form of comments on FriendFeed.
If you’d like to try it out, to get started first go to Moblf’s site and register your Twitter username and the promotion code “Mash” (first 300 people). Realistically, unless you’re a true FriendFeed addict, the “get” function via SMS isn’t enormously useful yet, but it’s one of the first of what I anticipate will be many mobile applications built using FriendFeed’s API. As a BlackBerry user, I’ve been enjoying both Twitterberry and Facebook’s BlackBerry application which both pull rather than push data, so I’d expect a GUI version of Moblf to be developed soon, by someone. I’d definitely download such an app when it becomes available.
