MySpace Debuts Application Gallery

We’ve got the scoop on an announcement set to be delivered by Steve Spearman this morning at the Web 2.0 Keynote address. Spearman is the Senior Vice President of Product Strategy for MySpace, and he’ll be unveiling the MySpace Application Gallery.

The gallery will showcase all the applications available to MySpace users, and allow them to easily install the apps on their profile pages.

You’ll be able to access the App Gallery from a new icon that shows up in the navigation at the top of all MySpace pages, as well as a one-click access option from the user control panel. Inside the App Gallery, there will be areas that will showed various featured applications in support of developers’ promotional efforts for their apps.

There are presently over 1,000 approved MySpace applications already in circulation, all of which, with the launch of the App Gallery, will recieve listings in the gallery as well as profile pages (similar in appearance to a user profile page).
